INSPIRATION wall&words

Ladies!
One of our last posts... :-)

Dear readers!

Our project is coming to an end, but a little INSPIRATION is what we want to give you and say THANK YOU for your support! We hope we could reach you in some way or another! Maybe someone, someday will keep on posting here - who knows ;-)

In the meantime:
Have you ever wondered how you could embellish a wall in your room, your kitchen or even your living room? The solution is quite simple!
All you will need is an old magazine or newspaper you have laying somewhere forgotten on your shelf!
Just pick your favorite word or quote and cut letters out of pretty motives you find in your magazines or newspapers!

Have fun! We are looking forward to seeing your results!

Yours,
the creative minds

P.D. Can't find a word or quote? Maybe you could check this blog

DIY it's all about the ribbon

hi ladies,
as we discussed I posted the necklace post... To make sure everything is okay I'll post it here just if you have improvements to make...
x

Dear readers,

Christmas is long gone, but we bet you still have some ribbons from your gifts. If this isn't the case, you probably still have some left-overs from the gifts you wrapped yourself? We hope so, because this is all about some ribbon you can find in order to create a unique necklace! There are SO much varieties of what you could do & we are giving you just one example with two combined ribbons!

yours,
the Creative Minds

P.S. Check here to see how we got inspired! And also herehere and here for a lot more!

Just some simple ideas what to do with photos

Hey there!

I've just looked into the grey and cloudy sky and started to get really depressed when I noticed my "Photo-Mobile" which made me laugh because of all the happy memories it triggered. Do you think it would be worth a post? Unfortunately, I do not see the connection with sustainability ...

Evaluation

Hello everybody,

Here you can see the link to  our feedback-facebook-question:
https://www.facebook.com/messages/?bookmark_t=app#!/OLDtoGOLD?bookmark_t=page
All in all, we have received a positive evaluation, haven't we? In my opinion, it is quite impressive that some people even took the time to comment on it because I believe that means that they really support our project; they encourage us to go on! That's so cool!
But there's still much work to do as the huge amount of people who anwered that nothing changed for them shows. On top of that, there truly is one person who completely disagrees with us.
Do you think that we can simply accept that or should we develop another strategy to reach at least those people who like the idea but who are not encouraged by us to change their behaviour?

See you all soon!

INSPIRATION from the glass jar (&bottle)

hi ladies!
here the next post,... Ann-Julika I think you should post yours today and then maybe we could post this one tomorrow or the day after tomorrow? :-)
I wanted to add the idea of using nail polish remover to make old nail polish more liquid and use the leftovers... Should I add that under the caption? Do you think that there are too many pictures or is it ok?
Let me know! See you tomorrow!

P.S. sorry that it took me so long, but I was away for the weekend :-)

hello dear readers,

as you may know, the idea of recycling and splitting "garbage" is quite widespread in Germany. You have a lot of options by separating biological waste from packages, plastic and even glass…
But what happens when the bottles or glasses you have already used and cleaned still can be useful for the household and decoration?
Here are some ideas of what you could do with empty wine or juice bottles and even glass jars!

yours,
the creative minds

Use nail polish to embellish old glass bottles.

In winter time fake flowers could be a decoration option in glass bottles or maybe even dry flowers from a nice summer day you want to remember...

A nice lavender bunch makes your room smell nice and it is very decorative inside a glass jar.

There once were candles on these bottles... But try and use the idea of using old crêpe paper to make clear bottles look colourful!

Spotted by Christin in an Irish Pub! Great idea!

Again: Candles in bottles. Spotted in a bar in København.

Another type of candles: gel candles! It is very fun to make and you have so many free options to decorate them using  different shells!

A lamp made out of a wine bottle! Spotted in København

Which one do you like the best and which one could earn a place in your home? Have you tried out anything similar?

P.S. You could also click here and here for other great ideas! Let yourself inspire by all the alternatives  all around the internet!

INSPIRATION

Hey ladies, what do you think about this post? Should I publish it? Do you have any suggestions of what could or should be changed? And what do you think about the title: "INSPIRATION Hip teens don't wear long jeans"? I can't think of any other title at the moment. Do you have any ideas? :)

Hey guys!

Am I the only one that's sick of the winter and the cold? I badly want summer to come!
In order to prepare for the summer time, I decided to cut one of my jeans. It's not necessary to buy new shorts each and every year. Look into your closet and you will most probably find some jeans or other pants you don't wear anymore. Simply get some scissors and cut them! It's up to you if they get just a bit shortened or really short. You can also vary by rolling the pant legs up. Of course, it's possible to add some individual style to the shorts, for example by using studs, some fabric, colors, etc. Just be creative yourself! And don't throw away the cut out fabric! Reuse it in one way or another!

It would be great if you could post photos of your self-created shorts and contribute your ideas!
Summer, we're ready for you to come! ;)

Yours,
the Creative Minds

Old jeans

The result - new shorts!

Googledocs

Google Docs is the webtool we used for writing the introduction article which presents our idea and the purpose of our blog.
One of us wrote a template and invited the other members of our group to edit in order to correct and improve expressions and grammar. However, we faced some difficulties. One has to become familiar with the set-up of the program because it differs from the usual office programs. Furthermore, it was not easy to find the right option to enable others not only to view the document but also to work on it. On top of that, it was annoying that one is not notified when someone else has worked on the text. We were also disappointed to find that there is neither the possibility of commenting nor the option of automatically highlighting changes. So the group members have to inform each other about modifications via communication tools like facebook or one has to regularly reread the whole text.
As a consequence, we abandoned Google Docs and used our process blog to discuss future posts.
We think that dropbox would have been another alternative. Dropbox is also a form of cloud-computing but the documents are saved in a folder on the internet as well as on one's own computer. The process of writing and formating the text is simple because you use the office program you are used to. There are several possibilities of commenting; for example, one could insert a footnote. Every time the document is changed, members of the folder are notified by a little speechbubble in the right bottom corner on their desktop.Another advantage is the fact that it is visible who worked on the text last.
