Introduction Article

This is the link where you can work on the article:

But first, you need to tell me your E-Mail-addresses so that I can permit you to work on the document.

Our goal once again(just as a reminder): Creating a blog which helps people to create unusual things to emphasize individuality by using simple methods which are agreeable with environmental sustainability

And now a first try on the Introduction Article:

Every day, people throw things away.

Dear Self-Makers,

Old to Gold is a project blog designed to encourage YOU to THINK before you throw your “TRASH” away. Ask yourselves: “Is this REALLY rubbish?” Maybe you can REUSE it! Many things have MORE potential in them than their original purpose. People tend to regard broken stuff as trash and put it STRAIGHT into the bin instead of having a CLOSER look to find out if a part of it can be used for example as arts and craft materials.

Our blog does not only INFORM you about how much is WASTED, it also gives you examples what you can DO with OLD things so that they seem GOLDEN again. We hope that you can gather some NEW ideas and will gladly support you in your CREATING.

By doing this, you will be able to emphasise your INDIVIDUALITY: You will present yourselves clad in new accessoires which nobody else can copy.
Your OLD “trash” will sparkle in GOLD!

Now YOU try!

Yours,
the Creative Minds

  1. "which nobody can copy"? are we not trying to make many people copy our ideas?

    1. Oh yeah, you're right. I was thinking of the concept of "nachkaufen" like with H&M-clothes. I absolutely missed to consider your interpretation.

Does anyone have an idea how to express "nachkaufen" in Englisch?

    2. I can't think of a word... but maybe we could just formulate it differently

By doing this, you will be able to emphasise your INDIVIDUALITY by presenting yourselves clad in new, self-made accesoires and also by giving unique gifts to your beloved ones.

Maybe like this? Unfortunately I can't access the link for the document...

I think the article is really good, just a few little changes and we are ready to begin! :-)

  3. I’m not sure about our concept but I thought we were going to encourage bloggers to contribute their own ideas and (recycling-)tips to the blog.
If so, we should add that too.
If not just forget it ;)

  4. Oh I had not thought about that, but I think it is a brilliant idea! Yes, our followers should be able to present their own ideas!

  5. We could change the settings on our blog in order to allow them any contribution BUT only if we approve them first.

  6. Maybe we should just have a kind of category for that, let's say "Users Time" or something, not on a specific date, only if we got some contribution of course. Users could send us their idea and we say "oh Nicole from Colorado just sent us this nice recipe for left over roast ..." and then post it ourselves rather than let anyone post something, even with the permission thing... I think it would look better if we posted it ourselves.
