We use facebook for the purpose of publishing and spreading our blog posts because we think we can reach a large audience with it. Also most of our friends are on facebook and we want to encourage them to "spread the word", too.
So for reaching many people, we put up a seperate facebook account, a fan page, that people can like. Then we started linking our blog posts to it and shared these posts on our personal facebook pages, so that our friends can see what we are doing. On this Old to Gold facebook page we encourage people to reuse things and also post smaller entries that are not connected with the blog.
So far, I think it is a great success. The statistics on facebook show that we reach almost 900 people from all over the world per week! We also get some nice comments and even one contribution with a new idea was sent to us. We all did not expect so many responses and likes and we are very much encouraged to continue our project.
By now, every member of our group is familiar with the facebook page's settings and can link our blog entries, although this was an issue at first that we had to work out.
So all in all, facebook is a great tool to reach many people all over the world and keep them informed about our project and its progress.
By the way, I messaged that women whose comment is so easy to interpret differently. I hope she anwers quickly and explains what she has meant. I will then inform you immediately!
